After medical school in Germany he received his residency training in the Harvard Orthopedic Residency Program. Following residency Dr. Mithoefer completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma at Harvard and the prestigious Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
