AC-Joint Reconstruction

Depending on the severity of AC joint injury and patients symptoms and functional limitations surgical reconstruction of the AC joint can be performed. Multiple surgical techniques have been previously described in the past. Dr. Mithoefer uses modern, innovative technologies which now allow for minimally invasive reconstruction of AC- and CC- ligament function. These arthroscopic procedures can help to significantly reduce postoperative pain but also facilitate overall recovery after this procedure and return to activity.

AC-Joint Reconstruction

Postoperative recovery typically requires several weeks of sling immobilization followed by a gradual return to activities guided by individually-designed physical therapy program.
